Window systems must fulfil diverse requirements and deliver different functions, depending on the building type and use of the space. Achieving a harmonious combination of functionality and design is a key challenge here. Schüco AWS WoodDesign window systems offer a custo-mised solution specifically for these purposes and can be seamlessly integrated in any interior design concept. Timber adds new design possibilities for Schüco aluminium block window systems, allowing for even more creative freedom. The room side of the Schüco WoodDesign windows is clad with a real wood strip, creating a window which unites the high performance characteristics and narrow profile face widths of an aluminium window with the natural cosiness of a timber surface finish.

Design meets function

Schüco WoodDesign is available for Schüco block window systems with basic depths of 75 and 90 mm. The timber surface finish is created by bonding wood decorative strips to the vent profiles. This timber appearance allows the window to blend har-moniously with the home’s interior colour scheme, while the contrast between timber and profile surface can also be used to create an exciting, stylish accent. A new rosette design available to suit diverse tastes allows the Schüco push-in handles to be used as usual for Schüco WoodDesign windows. All the usual fittings components from the Schüco modular system for block systems and the Schüco AvanTec SimplySmart fittings system can also be used as normal. This ensures that the high performance level and wide range of solutions for fittings and accessories typical of Schüco AWS window systems are available without any compromises for Schüco WoodDesign block windows too.

AWS WoodDesign special handle design

In order to accentuate the timber surface finishes, two new connections for the Schüco push-in handles have been developed especially for Schüco AWS WoodDesign. The square rosette for the push-in handle creates an entirely new, stylish appearance which highlights the contrast between the timber and aluminium profile surfaces. A more subtle option is the elegant round rosette, the second option for connecting the push-in handle. A surface-mounted window handle with a 43 mm fixing distance can also be used. The lockable version of this handle can also meet burglar resistance requirements. All handles and their rosettes are available in the surface finishes Anodised C0, black and white.

Schüco has pre-defined seven different colour variations for oakwood surface finishes. In order to offer unlimited design possibilities, individual colours can also be freely chosen from the metal fabrication company.
